Polygiene wash-less tees and jeans budding trend in Japanese fashion

Just as Polygiene-treated Aigle by Lacoste shirts hits the stores in Japan for the first time, The Shop TK announces its spring/summer 2018 launch with a new Polygiene-treated product segment – denim jeans that stays fresh longer and need less laundering.

Japanese consumers’ demand for odor-controlled garments that needs less washing is soaring. Brands such as Converse, Wacoal, The Shop TK, (Untitled, Indivi, Hushhush, Grove, Takeo Kikuchi, Opague.clip) and now the latest addition Aigle by Lacoste are integrating Polygiene into more and new types of products that offers the benefit of garments that needs less maintenance.

When Polygiene first was introduced as a new ingredient brand in Japan, it was mainly added to sports clothes and shirts in order to keep them stay fresh longer. Now Polygiene is integrated on a larger scale in business casuals, footwear and for the first time, in denim jeans. The jeans are part of The Shop TK 2018 spring and summer collection and are combined with other wash-less garments such as polo-shirts and T-shirts for both men and women.

The Shop TK has sold Polygiene treated apparel since 2016 and has substantially increased both volume and the line-up of Polygiene items for this season. The big news this year for the spring and summer collection is Polygiene treated jeans. The brand manager of The Shop TK states “We are confident that we provide an item which meets our customers’ needs”. These items have paper labels (hangtags) with Polygiene´s logo and its message “Wear More. Wash Less”.

The shop TK is one of the mayor brands within the World Group, a dominant Asian house of brands with big scale production capacities, thousands of retail stores throughout Asia and online shops with a global reach.
