The Asia-Pacific antimicrobial coatings market is set to grow to $240 million by 2019, according to a new study.
Sales of antimicrobial coatings will reach an estimated $236.73 million by 2019 at an annual growth rate of 12% from 2014 to 2019. The key driver for the market is the growing demand from the building and construction industry.
The Asia-Pacific region is the second-largest consumer of antimicrobial coatings in the world.
The growth of major end-user industries such as medical, construction, and food, mainly in China and India, are all serving as major opportunities for companies to invest in the region and increasing demand for antimicrobials from end-user applications is boosting the antimicrobial coatings market.
The need to minimize infection and, in turn, the cost of treatment, has spurred the use of antimicrobial coatings particularly in hospitals and other public areas where hygiene is mandatory.
Biomaster antimicrobial coatings are used on a variety of surfaces from industrial flooring to architectural and medical components to protect surfaces and people from bacteria, germs, fungi and other micro-organisms.
