Nekoosa world first with Biomaster: antimicrobial carbonless paper

Nekoosa Coated Products has created the world’s first antimicrobial carbonless paper by adding Biomaster Protection, a non-toxic, silver based, naturally occurring antimicrobial to protect the paper's surface from bacterial growth.

“As the cost of health care continues to rise, more and more antimicrobial treated products are being offered that are protected against non-pathogenic bacteria, producing cleaner product surfaces. For the first time, Nekoosa Coated Products brings a superior level of product protection to carbonless and copy paper products,” says Charlie Matthews of Biomaster USA, LLC, the North American distributor of Biomaster additives. Biomaster Protection will not affect the paper’s properties such as dry toner/laser compatibility or carbonless image permanence. Nekoosa’s carbonless and bond papers protected with Biomaster silver ion technology are suitable for any high traffic environment such as hospitals, classrooms, exam rooms, offices, clinics and day cares. Biomaster Protection can also be found worldwide in paints, coatings, plastics, textiles, three-ring binders, clip boards, plastic page protectors and file folders. “We recognize the need for a product that can complement and add to the growing  number of antimicrobially treated products,” says Paul Charapata, President of Nekoosa Coated Products. “This is an exciting new product launch that we feel will make an impact in increasing the demand for products that feature this technology.” Premium Digital Carbonless with Biomaster Protection is sold through Nekoosa Coated Products distribution partners across the United States.
