One of Europe’s top primary suppliers of stock and bespoke packaging will be showcasing a new range of antimicrobial products at the Cleaning Show on the 1st-3rd March at the NEC in Birmingham.
Polaris Plastics, part of the Anker International Group is set to produce the first commercially available waste bag with silver antimicrobial protection. Polaris is calling this new product range the “PP+” bag range.
Polaris is using proven Biomaster ® Antimicrobial Technology in the new range of waste bags which ensure that any contaminated contact with the bag at any point during its lifetime immediately starts to reduce the growth of bacteria on the bag, reducing the risk of cross contamination.
Biomaster Antimicrobial Technology is a range of silver based additives that safely inhibit the growth of bacteria on the product they are incorporated into. Biomaster has been successfully tested against over 50 different species of bacteria such as MRSA, E.Coli, Salmonella, Listeria and Legionella and has been proven to reduce the growth by up to 99.99%.
Polaris Plastics primary target for the new antimicrobial waste bag range is the healthcare and medical markets where bacterial cross contamination an ever present problem. Evidence suggests that a clinical waste bag in a medical environment is handled on average 7 times before arriving at its point of disposal/incineration. Use of Biomaster Antimicrobial Technology reduces the risk of infection being passed on at all contact points.
