The Gripaah, from Germgrabber Ltd, is a handy personal product, which, through its innovative design, enables users to grab handles whilst keeping their fingers and hands from touching surfaces that might be contaminated with bacteria.
One of the key features of the Gripaah is it is Biomaster Protected, which means Biomaster’s silver ion technology has been incorporated into the device to actively prevent the growth of bacteria on its surface. Silver is a natural antimicrobial that has been used for centuries to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and Biomaster is effective at preventing the growth of MRSA, E.coli and Listeria, by up to 99.99% over a 24 hour period.
A spokesperson for Germgrabber Ltd, commented: “There’s no denying that the majority of people have hang ups or fears about the cleanliness of public toilets. This is completely understandable as research suggests that users of public toilets are being exposed to up to 19 different types of bacteria.
“Currently, many people will use anti-bacterial hand sanitisers to combat cross contamination. However, not only are these expensive to buy, but they are often not used properly, can dry out the skin and some even contain some toxic substances.
The Gripaah is a great alternative to hand sanitisers. It has been specifically launched to provide a solution so people do not have to touch surfaces like cubicle door handles, taps, flush handles, toilet seats and flush handles that might be contaminated. The bacteria are kept in the recess of the device so that it does not touch the inside of the users pocket during storage.
Germgrabber continued: “It’s no surprise with the high frequency of use, coupled with users differing hygiene practices that people are at a greater risk of bacterial contamination from public toilet surfaces.
“Our own market research for example highlighted that over 90% of people surveyed are squeamish about touching public toilet handles. We also know that over one in five use toilet roll and nearly a third use their sleeve to avoid touching the cubicle door handle and toilet seat. Research also suggests that whilst the majority of people claim to wash their hands after going to the toilet, only 70% actually do! The Gripaah is a low cost and handy device that combats a very real problem for most people.”
Biomaster antimicrobial technology is easily incorporated into any plastic, textile, paper, paint or coating during manufacture to become an integral part of the finished product so it won’t leach out or wash away. It can be incorporated into a wide range of products to combat the growth of bacteria, from handles and light switches, to floors, walls and door and soap dispensers.
