Shelf appeal: making packaged food more alluring

Smart packaging with the latest in additive technology is the way ahead for fast moving consumer goods, according to a feature published in New Scientist.

With seemingly endless choice, how can a company ensure their product stands out on the shelves?   The international science journal reports on some of the Addmaster technology behind making consumer products more enticing for customers  – including packaging that kills bacteria and even smells better than its rivals.

Addmaster (UK) Ltd. devises customised solutions that incorporate the company’s additives in clients’ packaging material. The company has added Biomaster  antibacterial silver to meat packaging and reusable shopping bags and incorporated Scentmaster perfumed polymers in packaging to entice consumers with scents, to give some recent examples.
