Polygiene in Plastics

Polygiene BioMaster technology is compatible with almost all plastic and polymer materials

Powerful antimicrobial polymer protection

Incorporate Polygiene BioMaster™ technology into your plastic products and take advantage of innovative antimicrobial protection for the product’s entire lifespan. Backed by our industry-leading expertise, you will also benefit from our in-depth knowledge of additive technology and masterbatch formulation.

Polygiene BioMaster technology is compatible with almost all plastic and polymer materials. It’s effective at low addition rates and offers powerful antimicrobial polymer product protection.

Polygiene BioMaster antimicrobial additives provide long-lasting and effective product protection against harmful bacteria, biofilm, fungi, and mold without affecting the material’s finish, performance, or structural and physical qualities.

We work closely with you to ensure that you get the right antimicrobial additive technology for your specific needs, taking into account your product’s unique applications, material type, and production process.

Antimicrobial additives for plastics and polymers

Polygiene BioMaster antimicrobial additives are suited to use with almost all standard thermoplastics, engineering plastics, and high-performance plastics, including Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP) and Polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Grades are also available for Polystyrene (PS), Polyethylene (PE), Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), Polyurethane (PU), and silicones.

To simplify and streamline the introduction of Polygiene BioMaster additives into manufacturing processes, we can provide antimicrobial masterbatches, liquids, compounds, powders, and pellets. Our experts can also help you identify the appropriate additive for your manufacturing methods.

Antimicrobial flexible film packaging with Polygiene BioMaster technology provides long-lasting and effective protection in single and multilayer packaging for bags, pouches, labels, lids, trays, liners, and wraps.

Polygiene BioMaster’s versatility ensures common film materials, such as Polyethylene (PE), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and Polypropylene (PP), as well as biodegradable polymers constructed from polylactic acids (PLAs), benefit from advanced antimicrobial protection.

Antimicrobial food packaging in the meat industry

Studies from the FSA have found that up to 7% of raw chicken packaging in UK supermarkets shows traces of Campylobacter. This equates to approximately nine million packets.

Polygiene BioMaster inhibits the growth of bacteria such as Campylobacter, E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and mold and yeast on the outer packaging of fresh meat and poultry products.

Incorporating Polygiene BioMaster antimicrobial technology into external packaging impedes the growth of bacteria most associated with food poisoning bacteria, reducing the risk of bacterial transmission at the point of sale.

Antimicrobial technology for any production process

Our expert technical knowledge of the polymer industry enables us to advise customers on the most suitable Polygiene BioMaster grade. We can also help to determine the most appropriate application method for any production process, whether it is injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or roto molding.

We provide a bespoke solution to suit your end product’s exact requirements without disrupting your production process or supply chain. Similarly, Polygiene BioMaster additives do not impact a product’s final finish or performance.

Our additives do not wear off or leach over time and provide effective protection from harmful microbes for a product’s lifespan. They tackle the microorganisms responsible for discoloration, degradation, and unpleasant odors, ensuring your customers benefit from longer-lasting, better-performing products.
