The technology

Keeping things moving with Polygiene

We work with many sub-categories within transport to keep them powering forward more hygienically.

Polygiene technology can be applied as a masterbatch during manufacturing, or as a liquid or powder. Because it’s highly resistant to heat treatments, it can be added as a powder form to powder coating processes for grab poles on trains, coaches, buses or underground metro trains, protecting the public against bacteria. Polygiene is suitable for use in fabrics and textiles too, so it can be applied to seats including faux and real leather for public transport, aviation, and trains. In the automotive industry, Polygiene BioMaster can be added to polymer moulding for dashboards, interiors and seat edges giving protection against bacterial load and microbes for the lifetime of the product. It can also be incorporated into the plastic backs for seats, seat trays and laminate flooring.

Polygiene technology is thoroughly and independently tested to ISO standards. Polygiene BioMaster has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria including those linked to MRSA, VRE and Acinetobacter baumannii. Polygiene has REACH compliance, ensuring that our products have been approved under European legislation covering the manufacture and use of chemicals.

For both hard and soft surfaces such as floors, walls, handles, seat coverings and carpeting, Polygiene BioMaster™ is highly effective, providing continuous defence against bacteria and microbes. For freshness and odor control on textiles, Polygiene StayFresh™ and Polygiene OdorCrunch™ are effective at preventing odors and absorbing environmental odors, depending on the required functionality .
