Getting Children Moving: Polygiene® Supports SPORT VERNETZT

Great ideas often emerge through collaboration and networking. When Igor Ryabinin, Head of SPORT VERNETZT, introduced the project at a BSI event, we at Polygiene immediately knew that this was an initiative we wanted to support.

The partnership is part of BBL-Assist, the social sustainability program of the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga, which brings together, promotes and highlights the social responsibility initiatives of BBL clubs. Under the BBL-Assist umbrella, projects are supported that provide children and young people with easy access to physical activity, basketball and social participation.

A key pillar of BBL-Assist is SPORT VERNETZT. The initiative encourages children and young people to be physically active, strengthens collaboration between schools, kindergartens, sports clubs and local communities, and creates opportunities for physical activity where they are needed most. Its primary focus is on children who currently have little or no access to organized, high-quality sports programmes.

To support the coaches working within the BBL-Assist network, Polygiene has donated 300 T-shirts featuring Polygiene® StayFresh odor control technology. The shirts not only create a consistent appearance and increase the visibility and recognition of the coaches, but also offer a practical benefit in everyday training: Thanks to Polygiene® StayFresh, the shirts stay fresher for longer and can be worn more often before they need to be washed. Assuming the shirts are washed after every second use instead of after every training session, several thousand wash cycles can be avoided over the course of a year. This helps reduce water, energy and detergent consumption, saves time and extends the lifetime of the garments.’

For us, Polygiene’s support is a great example of how brands can create real impact through practical contributions. The shirts provide our coaches with functional equipment, create recognition on site and serve as a token of appreciation for the incredible commitment they show week after week in schools, kindergartens and sports halls. The fact that the shirts can be worn more often without needing to be washed after every use is an additional benefit. It saves time and resources while supporting a more sustainable training environment. These are exactly the kinds of partnerships we need if we want to make social responsibility in sport more visible, tangible and impactful.

For Polygiene, supporting initiatives like SPORT VERNETZT reflects the company’s commitment to combining innovative textile technologies with social responsibility.

“Sport brings people together, gets them moving and creates opportunities – that’s exactly what SPORT VERNETZT stands for. As soon as we learned about the project through the BSI network, we knew we wanted to contribute. We are delighted to provide shirts for the coaches and instructors supporting this fantastic initiative. If our shirts help make their daily work a little easier, save resources and at the same time strengthen team spirit and the visibility of the project, then we have achieved exactly what we hoped this partnership would accomplish.”
