Welcome to the September's edition of the Polygiene news. This month, we sat down to talk with the folks at one of British Columbia’s most interesting and influential outdoor apparel brands – 7mesh. In an excellent interview, we discuss the brand’s origins, what the company’s hometown of Squamish means to the business, and where Polygiene technology fits into the picture. Based in Squamish, in the Canadian province of British Columbia, 7mesh is one of the most exciting and innovative apparel brands in the outdoor sector. Having started life with an emphasis on clothing designed specifically for cycling, the company now produces apparel for all kinds of outdoor activity, whether that’s hiking, trail-running or practical go-anywhere, do-anything everyday wear. Of course, the bike remains central to the 7mesh philosophy, and its bib shorts, technical trail tees and hard-wearing riding pants deliver outstanding performance whether you’re pedalling over mountain passes or smashing the singletrack.
This month, we sat down with 7mesh’s Marketing Director, Aidan Oliver to discuss the brand’s origins, what Squamish means to the team, and how Polygiene StayFresh enhances product performance. Check out the full interview to learn more.

COLOURizd is the team behind the QuantumCOLOUR™ – a machine-based fabric coloration system without a water bath, wastewater discharge, or reactive chemistry. Crucially, the QuantumCOLOUR™ was built by mill owners who understand the demands and rigors of the mill environment, and it has been proven on the production floor, at volume and against brand standards.
The Polygiene x COLOURizd collaboration will see Polygiene Freshness technologies integrated into the QuantumCOLOUR™ system, enabling mills to apply pigments, binders and Polygiene protection at the same time, in a single, streamlined process. As the QuantumCOLOUR™ system requires no water bath and produces no wastewater, it drastically reduces resource use during application, too.
COLORizd analysis suggests its approach reduces water consumption by 98% and energy consumption by 50% compared to conventional dyeing processes. Not only does this translate to significant cost savings, but it also helps textile companies reduce their carbon footprint and work towards sustainability targets and requirements. I’m a passionate cyclist and, whenever I can, I pack up my bags, throw my leg over the bike and head off into the mountains for a bikepacking adventure. I also spend a few weeks every year with a group of friends on a longer trip – usually 10-15 days of riding in some pretty remote locations. On any multi-day trip with limited showering opportunities, a good chance of rain and a whole lot of mud, you and your sleeping bag are always going to get smelly.
