Welcome to this month’s Polygiene blog updates. In this edition, we have some exciting news about our work with trailblazing mountain biking specialists Chromag Bikes and do a deep dive on Polygiene’s third-party accreditations and what they mean for our partners and end users. There’s a fantastic personal history of Polygiene from our VP of Commercial Operations, and this month’s Polygiene Pick comes from Polygiene’s Head of Digital Marketing & Brand, Andreas Grevlind.
As part of Polygiene’s 20th Anniversary celebrations, we caught up with one of the company’s longest-serving employees and its current VP of Commercial Operations, Peter Sjösten. Peter joined Polygiene in 2010, when the business was still trying to establish itself and employed just four other people. The company has come a long way since then, and Peter has played a pivotal role in its development.
We wanted Peter’s perspective on this journey, and he duly delivered, providing a unique history of the company that covers everything from his globetrotting early days to Polygiene’s public listing and the recent wave of new product launches. The piece is a fantastic reminder of the hard work, sliding-door moments, and commercial vision that define a company and comprise its history.

We are also pleased to announce that Polygiene is expanding our work with the fantastic mountain biking company – Chromag Bikes. Historically, this passionate British Columbia brand has incorporated Polygiene StayFresh into its jerseys and technical tees. Now, it is also introducing our industry-leading antibacterial odor protection into its 2026 Protection Collection.
For Polygiene, Chromag and the brand’s customers, it’s the perfect use case. Knee and elbow pads are worn close to the skin for long periods of time, and are renowned for getting pretty sweaty and smelly very quickly. Polygiene StayFresh inhibits the spread of odor-causing bacteria in textiles, ensuring your mountain biking protection stays fresher between washes. While that’s extremely convenient for regular riders, it’s also better for the environment and the products. Less frequent washing means you use less water, electricity, and detergent, and the pads avoid the premature wear and tear associated with machine washing, so they last longer.
We are super-excited to see Chromag’s new Polygiene-treated protection in action, and to continue working with the brand on its technical tees and jerseys. We will be releasing a full Chromag partner profile in September, so make sure to check that out if you want to learn more about the company and its use of Polygiene technology. In the meantime, head to the Chromag site to browse its excellent range of bikes, apparel and accessories.
At Polygiene, we work with a wide variety of third-party accreditors and standards specialists to ensure our processes, products, and supply chain meet both our own and our customers’ high expectations. We are accredited and certified by OEKO-TEX®, bluesign® and GOTS, among others.
But what do these certifications actually mean? To help our partners and those customers who use Polygiene-treated products better understand the benefits of third-party accreditations, we created a detailed guide to Polygiene technology certifications. In it, you will find an overview of each of the accreditations we have received, as well as an explanation of how they benefit Polygiene partners and end users.

Every month, a member of the Polygiene team picks a Polygiene-treated product they couldn’t do without. From favourite T-shirts to odor-resistant camping gear, these essential items are all the better for smelling fresher. This month, it’s Polygiene’s Head of Digital Marketing & Brand, Andreas Grevlind.
The Blue Monte Mountain Print T-Shirt is a super-stylish tee that perfectly encapsulates the brand’s focus on blending street-ready design and outdoor functionality. As well as a cool grey-scaled mountain print, it features a reflective Distant Summit wordmark on the rear, improving wearer visibility and safety in low-light environments. The tee is constructed from a nylon-spandex blend, giving it a comfortable stretch and allowing for excellent freedom of movement, while also ensuring it is quick-drying.
Polygiene StayFresh technology is integrated into the fabric, ensuring the design benefits from antibacterial odor protection that keeps unpleasant smells at bay and enables me to wear it multiple times without needing to wash it. For me, it’s my go-to tee because I know I can throw it on, go out for a run or enjoy a yoga session, and then head straight to lunch knowing my top is smell-free and feeling fresh.
