This month, Polygiene has been involved in several fantastic events, from providing odor-control tees for inspiring accessible mountain biking documentaries to outdoor education camps in the wilds of Nebraska. It’s all covered in our monthly blog, along with a full interview with Sarahann, the Pacific Coast Trail hiker equipped with Polygiene-treated gear, and info on our upcoming trade shows.
BEST DAY EVER DOCUMENTARY
The Polygiene team loves getting behind a cause we believe in, and it doesn’t get much closer to our hearts than improving access to outdoor activities. So we were delighted to provide branded T-shirts to the team behind one of the most inspiring projects we’ve seen in a while – the Best Day Ever documentary.
Set in the Green Mountains, The Best Day Ever documentary follows adaptive mountain bikers Greg Durso and Allie Bianchi as they tackle the daily challenges of disability – and find joy, connection, and belonging in Vermont’s mountain biking community. At its heart is the world’s first fully adaptive trail network – built to prove that everyone belongs outside.
It’s a documentary that hopes to change recreation culture through the creation of inclusive trails and the provision of more adaptive sports equipment. But fundamentally, it’s about creating a world where we’re all able to experience the joy of the ride. At Polygiene, we’re enormous fans of what the Best Day Ever team is doing and recommend all readers check out the trailer below and head to the Best Day Ever site to learn more.
SARAHANN’S PACIFIC COAST TRAIL UPDATE
Our last newsletter was published just as Sarahann, whom we equipped with Polygiene-treated gear and whose adventures we have followed for months, reached the Canadian border and completed the Pacific Coast Trail. We managed to sneak in a brief announcement then, but we’re back for a proper round-up to celebrate Sarahann’s epic achievement and learn a little more about the achievement.
We’ve got a complete interview with Sarahann, which covers everything from the highs and lows of her PCT experience and what motivated her to take on the challenge to how the adventure changed her outlook. Of course, there are also details on how Sarahann’s Polygiene-treated gear fared and which piece of odor control equipment she would give the MVP award to.
Check out the full interview.
ARTERBURN OUTDOORS EDUCATION CAMP
Arterburn’s Nebraska-based outdoor education camps are renowned among the US outdoor community for bringing together apparel and equipment from some of the biggest brands in the business. So we were thrilled to team up with our long-standing brand partners, Pnuma, to attend the October camp and discuss the benefits of its Polygiene-treated clothing.
As well as talks on hunting safety, ethics, and Nebraska’s unique habitats, attendees tried new gear out in the field, putting Pnuma’s odor control capabilities to the test as they cooked, ate, drank, and sweated over three showerless days. While participants were clearly pleased with Pnuma and Polygiene’s performance capabilities around camp, the deer, with their phenomenal sense of smell, were the real test. During one night hunt, a group in the blind had a doe walk by at 15 meters without ever realizing they were there. Another group went undetected as a pack of coyotes passed within 40 meters. We reckon that’s a pretty successful field test! Nathan ”Newt” Borowski from Stillwater PR reported back that he was party to plenty of positive conversations regarding Pnuma clothing and the efficacy of Polygiene odor control.
The Polygiene team is grateful to Arterburn Outdoors for putting on such an excellent event and, as always, wants to extend a big thank you to Pnuma for facilitating a joint demonstration of Polygiene’s powerful odor control capabilities.

FUNCTIONAL FABRIC FAIR PORTLAND
Finally, we want to take a moment to promote the upcoming Functional Fabric Fair Portland event. Taking place from November 11-13, the event is one of the biggest textile trade shows on the US calendar, with the Spring edition attracting 1,650 unique visitors and 325 exhibitors.
Polygiene’s US team will attend this Fall’s edition to meet with existing customers and discuss our groundbreaking Freshness technologies with new and potential partners. We’re particularly excited to discuss the fascinating technology behind our new moisture-activated thermo-regulatory solution, Polygiene® StayCool. Designed to keep you cool when things start to heat up, it reacts to sweat by immediately reducing the fabric temperature by 2-3°C (4.3-5.4°F). Of course, we’ll also demo our existing odor control technologies and show the full Polygiene Freshness portfolio.
The Polygiene booth will be located at #553. If you would like to arrange a meeting with the Polgiene team prior to the show start, you can do so by reaching out to our Americas Team who will be attending. Contact information below!
